The purpose of religious education
Religious education gives pupils the opportunity to learn about and from major religions. It aims to develop pupils' understanding of:
- beliefs, teachings and sources
- practices and ways of life
- forms of expression.
It also encourages pupils to reflect on and respond to:
- identity and belonging
- purpose, meaning and truth
- values and commitments.
How to withdraw your child from religious education
You have the right to withdraw your child from all or part of religious education in school. To do this, please contact Mrs S Hassan via sao@cherryorchard.greenwich.sch.uk.
